It takes a community to restore a river.
As the saying goes… “It takes a village to raise a child.” Similarly, it takes a community to restore a river. Every successful river restoration project is born as an idea within the community and championed forward by local citizens. A lot of passion, time commitment, and hard work are required to launch river improvement projects and see them through to completion.
River Restoration is here to help.
We help our clients and project champions gain widespread support for holistic river projects that are sensitive to the environment, include recreation enhancements, and improve riparian and in-stream habitats.
We assist communities seeking funding opportunities for river improvement projects. We work with grant administrators, natural resource managers and potential stakeholders to uncover opportunities that create better outcomes for the river and the community.
River Restoration coordinates with government agencies and interest groups to develop planning tools and creative river solutions. We take a watershed approach; from inventory of riparian/habitat condition, to identifying degradations, recognizing stakeholders and uses, and coordinating with multiple project partners. We incorporate diverse and complex river systems issues in planning strategies that meet the unique goals of each project.
